CHECKS ON 10CF COVERPLATE ASSEMBLY
WITH C-2096, 125-135# SPRINGS.

"A" - Deflection of cover stamping due to spring load.

Upward bulge of coverplate due to spring pressure checked by bolting cover only to flywheel and checking height with surface indicator and marking these spots. Built up complete and bolted back in flywheel with a flat D.M. in place and rechecking same spots.

"B" - Additional deflection due to centrifugal force - 2 Assemblies checked.

Outward bulge of cover due to centrifugal force of levers checked by putting clutch on cushion deflection machine upside down and applying load to lever adjusting screws which were put in from underside of levers.

"C" - Load to deflect cover .005" ran from 300 to 470# at bearing, which would be equivalent to load of 1700# to 2700# on cover.
