To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} X719 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/T30.4.29. The material we use for lining the brakes on all S.S. cars except 21-EX is Ferodo bonded asbestos as at present fitted to production cars. There are four sets of this material in the stores. Ferobestos we are trying on 21-EX; it will also be fitted to Mr. Hancock's cars 22-EX and a note should be made of this in your records. We may want to try more cars with Ferobestos at a later date.
