PEREGRINE CARBURETTER.

We are relying on the new carburetter and induction pipe arrangement that E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} has. drawn in LeC.3314 and LeC.3325 to get us out of our distribution troubles on Peregrine.

Unfortunately in order to miss the steering column, they are making many modifications to the carburetter which have nothing to do with the major problem, but which will mean a lot of new pattern work.

Thus in two months we may make our first test of the complete mod. and find that we are all wrong. We therefore want to get a preliminary test with the carb. to LeC.3122 with as little delay as possible, and can do it as follows:-

(1) Existing Peregrine induction pipe pattern modified to the new hot spot as shewn on LeC.3314. Details promised by EY. today 5.1.33.

(2) We have arranged with the D.O. to detail the throttle body shewn on LeC.3314 immediately. It is promised for the 7th. Will you please get an expl. casting made to this drawing, but with enough metal left on the bottom flange for it to be machined to fit the existing J.III. carburetter to LeC.3122. Will you please complete this as soon as possible.

(3) A choke to fit existing carburetter LeC.3122 but otherwise to dimensions shewn on LeC.3314.

If you could urge the pattern shop for (1) and (2) and machine the choke, it would be of great assistance to us. We think this test is the most important bit of work to help the final Peregrine along at the moment.
