1069 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}10/MH.{M. Huckerby} 26th. January, 1939. R.C.Hughes, Esq., Messrs. Humber Ltd., COVENTRY. Dear Hughes, Many thanks for saying that you would look into whether you could cut, on a machine in your works, a new experimental reverse gear which we cannot, at the moment, fabricate ourselves. The gear in question is shown as the teeth on drawing GB.4616. The other dimensions of this shaft are shown on GB.3365. Possibly also, the spiral angle will present difficulties and we should have to supply a helical sleeve. If you could cut one gear for us, about which, of course, we should have to approach Mr. Winter, it would get us out of an awkward difficulty. Kind regards, Yours sincerely, | ||
