Test results and notes for an oil cooler's performance under various conditions.

(2) Determination of total effective temp. drop caused on system by introducing oil cooler in system.

Unfortunately it was found impracticable to carry out this test as the shutting down and changing of oil pipes necessary to put cooler in system completely upset steady conditions.

(3) To compare the amounts of heat removed from oil (by this cooler) with different oil flows through the cooler.

The water inlet temp. was kept at 70oC (engine R.P.M. 3750), and the oil inlet at 100oC. The flow of oil through cooler was varied by adjusting the by-pass tap.
