Motor paper per Mr. Martin 1M.1.13 AWL/L18313 Re Pivots. - X.166 Mr Johnson Mr Royce 18-3-13 In view of Mr Hives preliminary report on the present type pivots which the Experimental Dept. are forwarding to you by the same post as this letter, Mr Nadin and myself have, after considering the matter together, issued instructions to our Repair Dept. to replace all old type pivots by the reinforced type that Mr Hives has just reported on, because these tests have proved that the pivot is not the weakest part of the car. This is of course a temporary expedient to be carried out immediately pending the manufacture of any modified design that Mr Royce may approve of and subsequently have fitted to the cars.
