X995 EFC2/T6.10.19. DESCRIPTION OF ELECTRICAL SYSTEM OF R.R. 40/50 H.P. CHASSIS. SERIES J.K. Wiring diagram N.1293. (1) GENERAL. The electrical system is an insulated system except in so far as an earth is added at one point to complete the return circuit for the battery ignition. This earth is made from the positive bus bar of the Lucas junction box (which will be found low down on the front right hand side of the dash), to the metal casing of the box itself. It is quite manifest and may be removed for testing the insulation of the system from earth (chassis frame) which testing necessitates the removal at the same time of the low tension ignition lead from the insulated terminal on the contact breaker. Under these circumstances there should be no electrical connection between the chassis frame and the insulated portions of the electrical system. (2) DIVISION AND SUB-DIVISION OF THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. The electrical system may be divided into four main portions and further sub-divided as follows:- A LIGHTING. (a) Dynamo. (b) Switchbox. (c) Battery. (d) Ammeter. (e) Lamp connections. Contd | ||
