Dear Mr. Swain,

I have been compiling a summary of the information available in the Rolls Royce organisation with regard to conditions which affect cylinder bore durability.

As our experience goes back 20 years and our records are very complete, the information I have collected begins to look as if it would be very useful to the English Motor Car Industry.

I do not know what the situation is during war-time for reading papers before the Institution but if one is wanted for the next Session I could probably get these notes into a form suitable for submission to the Council within the next few weeks.

Yours sincerely,
