P.III CLUTCH PLATE EX.27309. We want to run an endurance test on one of these, consisting of, say, 500,000 compressions to test the following points:- (1) Will the cushion springs fracture or lose their set ? (2) Will the facings fracture in the neighbourhood of the rivets ? (3) Will the sliding edge of the cushion springs wear the centre plate ? Will you please arrange accordingly. The rig can easily be made of a complete clutch and flywheel, in which the release trunnion is operated by a motor and crank mechanism. We hope to have a plate ready for test in about two weeks' time. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Smth. | ||
