R.R.A. 25 25m. 12-20-20 40849 X2758 INTER-OFFICE CORRESPONDENCE ROLLS-ROYCE OF AMERICA, INC. SPRINGFIELD, MASS. CC Mr. Belnap Mr. Nadin Oyl - G 2222 February 2, 1922 Confidential. Dear Hives: Re: Induction Pipes I hasten to reply to your letter Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1/LG11.1.22. With regard to your last remark, I assure you that nothing would please us better than to see you here before the winter is over. We are continually saying amongst ourselves that it would be very desirable to have you out this winter and show you the strides we have made since last winter. I am sure that you would be absolutely astonished at the difference in the cold weather performance of the cars this year and last year. My most interesting piece of news for you is that we recently had a visit from a representative of the Penberthy Injector Co., who are just getting ready to market the Penberthy Reatomizer. Since you may not have heard of this device, I am enclosing one of the empty boxes, which will give you the best idea of the device, and will shortly send you a sample suitable for the Rolls-Royce car. I also enclose herewith a copy of a curve taken with the wheels jacked up on my own Overland with and without the Reatomizer. The important point is that this Mr. Flower of the Penberthy Injector Co. has visited and done work for practically every American automobile manufacturer and most of the large service stations, and he finds our cars with vaporizer pipe, no collector rings, and standard carburetter and throttle, the only cars on which he cannot prove a decrease in consumption coupled with an increase of power. On one of our cars on the dynamometer, he was practically unable to show any result through the use of the Reatomizer except a slight fall in power at high speeds. | ||
