Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 78430 BY/Cgh{W Clough}8/G.19.4.28. With reference to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/LG.2.4.28. we are unable to arrange to fit the improved geometry to chassis fitted with the old type steering column on which the steering pendulum lever is on the inside of the chassis frame. We could of course fit the .750" lead steering worm andnut. We could, however, fit the 9.000" steering lever with the 8.250" pendulum lever on the first chassis in 'M' series onwards, and this combination gives us a perfectly straight side steering tube. As you are aware material is ordered for 'N' series, and the Works are now building for 'M' series, therefore if you wish to introduce this modification on production will you please let us know.
