October 9th 1920. The Chief Buyer, Messrs. Rolls-Royce Limited, Derby. Dear Sir, Some months back, your Works Manager in London saw one of our samples of the Lubri Gaiter, and was so impressed with it, that he asked us to fit a set to one of your cars for test purposes. Unfortunately, owing to manufacturing troubles, we have only now been able to make a proper start, and it is our intention to call upon him again: meanwhile, however, one of our Directors has to come to Derby next week, and we have therefore asked him to call upon you with samples for your inspection. If you can possibly spare a few minutes to examine them, we feel sure you will agree that, like the Rolls-Royce Car, there is nothing better made. Yours faithfully, HAMMOND CHELSEA LIMITED. (Sgd) R.J.Paton. H.R.H. Prince Henry tested one of the first samples we made and immediately he received delivery of his new car sent us an order to supply a set. Unfortunately these have not yet been supplied owing to our difficulties already explained, but we hope that he will now allow us to fit them. | ||
