X1280 Exptl. Dept. HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Std.10/KW. 22nd October,1935. Messrs. John Marston Ltd., Paul St.{Capt. P. R. Strong} Works, Wolverhampton. For the attention of Mr. Dalrymple. Dear Sirs, With reference to our order for a Phantom III radiator matrix to E.87003, Order No. 90804, sent to you on Sept. 10th last, we trust that you will be despatching the matrix to us on Wednesday the 23rd inst., in accordance with the promise in your letter of the 18th inst. We should like to take this opportunity of warning you that our Order Office will shortly be placing with you an order for 50 similar matrices. If the small modification to the matrix construction discussed with Mr. Southall on my last visit to your Works has been determined by stripping the Harrison core which we have sent you, and if this modification tested on your rig shows any appreciable improvement, we should like to have it incorporated in these 50 matrices, provided that the testing of the modification by yourselves, or the alterations to tools necessitated by it, do not appreciably delay the delivery of these matrices. If any delay will be so caused, then the matrices should be of the same type of core as that which we are now awaiting. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
