40/50 HP. CHASSIS. SHOCK ABSORBERS.

Referring to Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/Ev{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}4/M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} 14. 7. 24. and dealing with the third paragraph, we will look into the question of moving the Upper Support for the Shock Absorber 1/8" towards the rear.

We appreciate, very fully the fact that a slight change in position considerably modifies the movement of the body of the shock absorber.

The particular positions decided upon were arrived at by experimenting with different positions on cars in the Test Dept, during which we found it was very necessary to carefully fix the position of the top and bottom joints for the Shock Absorber, as otherwise it was possible, as actually demonstrated on the road, to cause the shock absorber to toggle.

The cars we tried the shock absorbers out on were fitted with wings, and therefore wing stays, and the position fixed was the best compromise we could arrive at on the three of four customers' cars fitted with bodies which were available at the time.

We propose to look into this matter further, and let you know what we decide upon.
