A Formula for Fuel.--Although a fuel may work well it is necessary to remember that the price of the fuel is not sufficient to determine whether its employment is advantageous or not, but that the price should be considered in relation to the calories produced by the fuel. M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} Lumet, in the course of a report made at the last Public Vehicle Congress, gave a simple formula for working out the price in relation to 2,540 calories, capable of giving one horse-power per hour at an average efficiency of 25 per cent. The formula is F x d x 2,540 / p where F is the price per litre in francs, d the specific gravity in kilogrammes, p the calorific power in calories. The result is the price in francs per horse-power_hour.____
