Dear Parsons,

I am very sorry as regards the car. In the ordinary way it could have been arranged, but the whole question of the running of experimental cars has been gone into by BJ. The question arose owing to numerous requests for cars during the holidays.

The Works close on July 24th. to Aug. 6th. although there will be a fair number of people working.

The outcome of it has been that they have stopped cars being used by outside Officials, as if the privilege was allowed to one it would have to be extended all round.

If you come to the Works we could no doubt get Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}'s permission for you to take a car for a few days but we are not allowed to send you a car.

This matter has been under discussion for this last week or 10 days, and the matter has only just been settled in the way we point out.

I am very sorry indeed that we should have to disappoint you and I can assure you that if it could possibly have been arranged, nothing would have given me more pleasure.

Yours,
