ORIGINAL FROM DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} C. to HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} INDIA 3. - CENTRALISED CHASSIS LUBRICATION, ED.{J. L. Edwards} DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}1/M17.3.28. X3806 X1360 We send herewith N. sch. 2561. shewing the application of centralised lubrication to the rear springs front end, and the carrier levers. On this drawing we have also shewn the battery suspension and cross member. The arrangement of lubrication shewn depends on the proposed experiment with cadmium plating to avoid lubrication of the brake gear on the axle being a success. If not it will be necessary to get on to the front axle by means of a pipe along the springs, and we are sending some proposals for this on additional schemes. We have shewn a drip plug to N. scheme 2502. for the sake of consistency, but if these are not available the American plug can be used without material alteration. The battery is exactly the present standard without alteration. Will you kindly send us an extra print for R.{Sir Henry Royce} DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
