Messrs Rolls Royce Ltd. Derby. Dear Mr.Hive, Many thanks for your letter of December 12th. By all means keep the paper I sent you as I do not want it back again. I should, however, be grateful of your criticisms at as early a date as possible as I have now completed the second draft and they are urging me from America to get the M.SS.{S. Smith} off as soon as possible. I should very much like to have your criticisms before I send the M.SS{S. Smith} so that if there is some point with which you do not agree or which you think ought to be put in another way, I shall be glad to amend it before it leaves. You will be interested to know that this last weekend I tried our No.8 car with the weightings got almost identical with the formula, and the improvement over the car which you tried is something quite extraordinary, and this seems to show that we are a [handwritten: 1/4] ton short of weight on our Pullman in the front. I have now decided to sail on the Berengaria on the 6th January so as to get over before the New York Motor Show closes, and it would be rather satisfactory if Mr. Rowbotham was to sail in the same ship, as I expect we could have some discussions on the way over. As I am now leaving earlier than I anticipated, | ||
