Our views on this car are as follows. We think * that we shall be worse off than the standard car for:

(1) Torque reaction.

The sports car is undoubtedly rougher on the pick up than the standard car. There are a number of very definite reasons for this. The roughness ceases below 25 m.p.h. It is therefore out of the normal range of a sports car when used on the Continent.

(2) Steering.

The higher the maximum speed of a car, the more susceptible is the steering to slight inequalities & in the tyres out of balance of the wheels. Therefore customers must pay attention to these details. All our ordinary steering troubles will be accentuated as the maximum speed of the car is increased.

(3) Suspension on bad roads below 25 m.p.h.

The suspension of the whole car is arranged for fast touring and Continental work. It is therefore less soft than that of the standard car below 25 m.p.h.

(4) Ventilation of the driving seat.

We have some experimental work still to do on this subject. The high speeds attainable make it essential that the front driving seats should be ventilated for traffic work. We do not think that we shall have any difficulty in getting good results
