SPECIFICATION OF COACHWORK N.Sch. 3327.-8. CHASSIS. Rolls-Royce 25HP. having several special features all indicated on the drawings. "F" Type steering and levers. Untarnishable exterior finish. Except where otherwise stated the standard Chassis Print should be worked to. TYPE OF BODY. Four door Sports Saloon see N.Sch.3327 and 3328. FRAMING, PANELLING AND MOUNTING. The body to be built in best English ash and ironed with sheet steel gussets. Great care to be given to keeping the weight as low as possible consistant with adequate strength. DOORS. Doors to be hung on the centre pillar which should be an all metal pillar,preferably of sheet steel. The doors to be thin and light. Concealed hinges should be used if possible. HEAD. The head will be covered with fabric eith leather cloth of twill, and lined with cloth which must be so fastened up that it does not sag far from the roof and so rob the headroom. Large rear window as drawn with no exterior frame showing. WINDOWS. Windows to be of Triplex Glass .187ins. thick. The lift handle to the drivers door to be in front of the steering wheel. No signalling window is required. Ventilating louvres to be built into the door. WINDSCREEN. Fixed single piece screen of Triplex Glass .250ins. thick. Dual screen wiper to base of screen an concealed. SCUTTLE VENTILATION. Louvres of the extracting type on the scuttle to match those on the bonnet. Fresh air to be fed into the scuttle from under the sloping floor boards. WINGS, VALANCES AND STEPS. Front wings and steps to be in one piece and all metal. Tread of step to be of rubber inserted strips, and a toe plate of stainless steel to extend along the edge of the step A small half round bead extends the whole length of the front wing edge and continues along the lower edge of the step then following on along the edge of the rear wing. We hope to let you have the chassis to mount the body and complete the wings and steps. CUSHIONS. Cushions and squabs to be up to the usual standard of excellence demanded by sales. The driving cushion to be made a little on the high side to allow of sinking due to use. FLOOR. Rear floor has a sunken well which must be as drawn and made to clear the special exhaust silencer. The boards of the sunken floor we suggest be of Plymax. All floors to be gastight and covered with Sorbo and a carpet. TOOLS. All tools to be in top of luggage boot, but failing this the road tools may be under the bonnet. Little used tools and s spares are in space over the petrol tank. | ||
