ORIGINAL To DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} SECRET. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}5/LG22.9.24. X8770 X8830 E.A.C.11. DUMMY CHASSIS. We wired you today as follows :- "MOCK UP EAC. WILL NOT BE READY BY MONDAY WRITING - HIVES". The cause of the delay with the chassis is the Bonnet and Radiator. The bonnet so far has not been finally instructed by the D.O. and they state they have been waiting for W.W. The radiator and shutters are a fairly big job. The suggestion we make is that we could send a dummy chassis less radiator and bonnet in a weeks time. This would enable the Coachbuilders to fit the body, wings etc. We could then fit the radiator and bonnet at the Coachbuilders. Please let us know whether you agree to this. With regard to the springs. We propose fixing standard springs and will clamped them to the normal camber. We think this might be more satisfactory than removing a large number of leaves.
