Pistons to LOP.E.60761. Second Compression Ring modified to RM.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}186. i.e. L section.

Condition good - crack tested and found O.K.

Herewith chart giving particulars.

Cylinder Block EB.2929, after 15,415 Miles.

Condition good. Herewith chart giving wear, etc.

Cylinder Head E.60660. Modified to E.60891. Deturbulated to LeC.5002. After 13,600 miles.

Condition - No. 10 and 11 Exhaust Valve Seats cracked. All valve seats were in a poor condition, being covered with hard black scale and showing uneven bedding. Inlet valve seats in better condition.

Inlet Valves E.60892. S/SLV.

Exhaust Valves E.60713 in IE.965. (Stellite Seats and Tips)

Condition - Inlet Valves. Good.
Exhaust " Poor.

No. 11. Exhaust Valve was cracked on seat and badly burnt, also No. 10 was cracked. All valves were distorted.

Camshaft to LOP.E.39709.

Camshaft intermediate bearing show signs of fidgetting in crankcase, surface cracks being inevidence in vicinity of dowel holes on all bearings.

Camshaft in good condition.

Idler Gear LOP.EB.311.

Large Bush pressed into the gear had seized on the spindle due to the oil passages having become made up solid with sludge, such as is found in crankpin oilers.

Water Pump.LOP.E.58437.

Condition poor. Rotor shaft was badly grooved - only one packing was found - one missing.

The lignum vitae pad had worn badly and allowed the rotor blades to foul the casing.

Bores of casing had worn .004 and .002 respectively due to bearing, etc. revolving. The flange which forms the seating for the gland packing had broken away from the inner bearing.

Oil Filter E.66118.

Condition good, the gauze being clean.
