Dear Sirs,

In reply to your letter HDTM/HB{C. E. Harcombe} of the 5th ult, relative to Speed Petrol, we regret that we cannot undertake to test out and give our opinion on the sample left with us. We have never made a practice of doing this, and we have not the facilities to carry out all the necessary tests.

With regard to recommendations for petrol on our cars, we have never made a practice of recommending any specified spirits, and we cannot therefore depart from our usual policy and communicate with Mrs. Linden on this point.

We are retaining the sample of petrol left with us and perhaps you will arrange to collect sometime when you have a representative passing through the district.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
