26.G.VI. Petrol Tank.

The feed pipe in this tank has at times become obstructed on the road and at others gives a satisfactory flow.

It was found in France that there was an obstruction on the first bend leading down to the vertical piece of pipe. This was partially cleared, but trouble was again experienced, and with difficulty a large piece of solder removed. This had evidently got into the pipe when the pipe was made, and had not been drawn up out of the tank, as it had one side corresponding with the diameter of the pipe. This large piece of solder must have been loose in the pipe, at times lying flat, and at others lying across the pipe.

We wish you to examine this pipe and ensure it is now really clear, and at the same time ensure this doesn't happen again.
