-7- ∴ Vol flow at (3) = 22.34 K P₁ / √T₁ ___________________ P₃ / RT₃ = 39.35 K T₃P₁ / (P₃√T₁) cu.ft/min. T in °O abs. T₃ "OC abs. P₁ & P₃ "Hg. abs. ___________________ This is the formula on which all the air flows following have been calculated. - for large nozzle - 2.5" dia. - the constant is 175 instead of 39.35. Note:- For reliable comparison of gas flows through a restriction, it is desirable that the pressure and temperature of the gas should be as nearly the same in each case as possible - hence where possible the pressure difference across valve was kept constant and the air flow measured, rather than the flow being kept constant and the pressure difference measured.
