BENTLEY 111 - EXHAUST TAIL PIPE ALTERED TO CLEAR ROLLS-ROYCE TYPE SHOCK DAMPERS.

Please receive herewith :-

E.CD.780 Modified Exhaust Tail Pipe (Front End) Bentley 111.
E.CD.781 Modified Exhaust Tail Pipe (Rear End) " 111.

The modification is required to clear the Rolls-Royce type of shock dampers on rear axle as used on the B.50 chassis to F.CD.677, which is now being used on the Bentley 111 chassis, in place of the Armstrong type dampers.

On E.CD.780 we have shown a set in the plan of the pipe outwards to enable the tail pipe to pass below the cross member in the chassis frame, the pipe then returns to the position of 14.000" from centre line of chassis and keeps to that dimension for the remainder of its length as shown on E.CD.781.

The forward support for tail pipe is unaltered from the original design, except that the bracket welded on pipe has been turned round to clear the downward set of pipe.
The rear support and also the tail pipe picture extension are same as used on the Bentley 50 car.

Will you please detail and instruct experimentally.
