STARTER ON 14-EX.

We found the cause of the unevenness in the starter gear was due to a bad burr on the flywheel ring. We have tried it again since the teeth have been trued up and the noise has practically disappeared. The only way in which we can see how the teeth could become damaged would be if the starter was engaged with the flywheel moving. This could happen by the engine giving one fire which would disengage the starter and the button would be pressed again before the flywheel was stationary.
