To Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} from EFC. X3014b EFC1/T26.6.24. X.3014b - LUCAS E.575 DYNAMO. We have an armature from one of these dynamos which has been running on an experimental car, which armature is faulty inasmuch as :- (1) There appears to be a partial breakdown between one of the commutator segments and the core, and (2) Faulty connection of the armature to the commutator, as if too much turning had taken place round the soldered connections after these had been made. We think this armature should be returned to Messrs. Lucas for repair. We consider the failure of the dynamo to function correctly on the car is due to one or both of the faults mentioned. Probably a new commutator will be required. EFC. | ||
