The cars are running very well and there have been no complaints today.
As regards spitting in the silencer, I went out on the landaulet this morning which was reported to be very bad.
It was bad, even when coasting with the throttle lever shut; we found that the throttle was not closing absolutely definitely and made this O.K. Afterwards the spitting was greatly reduced; we tried blanking up the boiler pipes but cannot say that it gives any
