X5450 C. Hg/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} BY/HEB{H. Biraben}6/M.21.5.27. 20-HP. CHASSIS. SIDE STEERING TUBE - SEC:7070. IN ACCORDANCE WITH "N" SCHEME 2417. Please receive herewith one blue print of each of the following:- F.55068 Socket for Side Steering Tube(Rear). 1 off per chass: F.55069 Nut for Side Steering Tube. 1 " " " F.55070 Ball Pad (Long). 1 " " " F.55071 Outer Guide. 1 " " " Kindly note that the above parts are to suit a scheme for preventing the breakage of the Oil Film at the Ball Pad Spherical Face and are only applicable to new Side Steering Tubes. In addition to the above, please receive herewith one blue print of each of the following:- F.55072 Nut for Side Steering Tube. 1 off per chassis. F.55073 Ball Pad (Long). 1 " " " F.55080 Outer Guide. 1 " " " F.55081 Distance Washer for End Nut. 1 " " " F.55082 Rear Spring for Side Steering Tube Joint. 1 off per chassis. In contradistinction to the first scheme mentioned above, the latter details are for use when incorporating the modified design in existing Tubes, i.e. the only new piece is the Guide F.55080. The other details, namely F.55072/3 and F.55081/2, are produced from the existing pieces, for instance the Ball Pad F.55073 is produced by grinding .050 off the back face of the spherical seat, and carrying the centre bore throughout the piece. Will you kindly instruct for the schemes to be produced and fitted Experimentally as required. BY/HEB.{H. Biraben} | ||
