ORIGINAL TO B.Y. FROM R.{Sir Henry Royce} HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} (At Le CanadelHenry Royce's French residence.) c.c. to BJ. E R2/M4.4.27. REC'D & DESPATCHED FROM WW. 8.4.27. X5250 20HP. RADIATOR & CAST DASH. Now that we are expecting to use 6.25/7 mm. tubes on 40/50 - i.e. a smaller and half inch shorter tube - we certainly ought to do the same on the 20HP. As the weight of the complete radiator is only partly matrix it is thought that this would be a saving in weight and cost. The shutters,(vertical) and the control like 40/50., are distinct improvements. It is thought that the cast dash increases the vibrations from the engine on the over-run, and it is understood that the reasons for the cast dash are now reduced somewhat, and it is doubtful if this would be worth the extra cost and weight. Kindly reply if incorrect. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
