GAE.20. 30H. The springing of this car is on an average better than the present 30H in respect of the rear seat ride. There is still on uneven road surfaces a throw up which Cricklewood say would constitute a complaint. To overcome this, it is proposed that slightly stronger springs, both rear and front, would probably overcome it. To try to cure it by loading up the dampers would make the ride too hard. The front tortion rod definitely gives control-ability to the steering and does not spoil the front ride. It helps the rear seat ride in steadiness by decreasing any tendency to pitch. The throw up in the rear seat has been lessened in force and frequency by increasing the front damper load. A .010" washer was fitted under the valve. Nothing else has been done as the expert considered nothing that could be done to the dampers would improve the general ride. A report by Cricklewood's expert will be forwarded in due course.
