R.R. 235A (100 T) (S.H. 159, 11-8-20) G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 2800 ORIGINAL TO HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} FROM R.{Sir Henry Royce} Copy to ------ GOSHAWK 111. IN FRANCE. X5840 X5940 X5370 It would appear that the cam for the four wheel brakes on this car is about as good as it can be, the report being at first that it gave insufficient braking except with a large pedal pressure. This I think good if not overdone, and therefore the cam they are using is probably nearer right than the cam I have on 8.G.111. here. Moreover it will be noticed that with this scheme no servo jaggers have been reported. This is a distinct improvement and can only be otherwise met as far as I know by slowing the speed of the servo. This has not yet been tested to find out whether the lag is too great, but if the lag is not too great I think it would be a decided improvement. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
