Maximum speeds recorded and speedometer corrections for several cars.

On the road between Weedon and Towcester, the following maximum speeds were recorded on the speedometer :- 2.B.IV. - 98.5 m.p.h. 3.B.IV. - 99.0 m.p.h. 4.B.IV. - 100.0 m.p.h. The speedometers were checked on Brooklands at 20 m.p.h. and the correction for speedometer error gives the following true speeds equivalent to the above speedometer readings :- 2.B.IV. - 96.0 m.p.h. 3.B.IV. - 96.7 m.p.h. 4.B.IV. - 98.0 m.p.h. No trouble of any sort was experienced on the track with these cars. Ha/Ldd. | ||
