contd :- -4- the pivots we can only improve this by giving ample initial XXXX lean, and reducing the front wheel braking as suggested in the first part of this memo. You will remember that I have tried my utmost to keep the front wheel braking down from the first, and especially on this smaller car where the back wheel braking is so much better than on the 40/50 HP., and we can afford to do it. In some ways I think it would be an advantage if the servo was made rather smaller in dia., but I fear this would mean scrapping many parts. My idea however is that it would be give greater clearance with the floor of the car. Slightly stiffer front springs, say another 13% making 25% at least. We should have thought it would not take long to send a pair of springs to the makers to have the camber altered by softening and rehardening. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
