EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} from Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} c. to EFC. c. to Chat X. 4288. Wd{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}4/NJ13.6.23. Exide Battery. In reply to EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}/CEP6/EC6.6.23, the Chloride Co. have now written us, under dated 12th inst. as follows:- "We beg to acknowledge due receipt of your letter "of the 7th inst. with reference to a 12 volt 6 BXE 5 "Exide Battery, which was shewn to the undersigned at "your Works on the 4th inst. "The distinctive feature was the falling away of "the active material in the negative plates, indicating "abnormal treatment which could not be accounted for. "We are hopeful that the analysis of the plates, on "their return to these Works, will disclose the cause "of their behaviour. "The undersigned agreed to repair the battery "without charge, in order that we might have an "opportunity to try and satisfy ourselves what had "brought about the collapse of the plates in order that "the point may be guarded against in future in your "Test Department." Any further report from the Chloride Co. with regard to the above-mentioned battery will be communicated to you. Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} | ||
