BENTLEY CHASSIS - B.157-AE and B.189-AE. ------------------------------------------ With reference to D/BP.32/OG.15.2.34. the Experimental Department have now done sufficient testing of the wing stays required for cycle type front mud wings. These stays, however, demand new stub axles, but we have not got any forgings. Dies have been completed for the stub axles, but dies have not yet been put in hand for the wing stays. The latter could, of course, be made as hand forgings, and we could get a few stub axles forged from the dies. We do not know the position of the chassis in question, but if it is decided that we should supply the above parts, then time should be allowed to enable us to get the parts completed. We understand that it will take about five weeks to obtain the forgings, and additional time must, of course, be allowed to enable the Works to get them machined and fitted. BY/Cgh.{W Clough} | ||
