FROM R.{Sir Henry Royce} (At Le CanadelHenry Royce's French residence.) ORIGINAL REC'D DURING EASTER AT WW., & DESPATCHED 11.4.28. INDIA 3. - ADJUSTABLE CARRIER WHEEL. X5170 LeC. 2539. seems quite good - needs another arrow to say smaller dia. casehardened also. I am just a little anxious about oil getting to the outer bearing of smaller dia. We might drill the oil hole so as to be blind by that bearing, and another hole some degree from the bottom, so that after the small bearing is fed the larger one is also fed in the same way by the extra oil. If a very small amount of oil only is available it would get to the smaller bearing and leak out of the end to the larger one. Probably I am over anxious but it will do no harm. Revolves correct hand for R.H. thread nut. Lubrication. I prefer fig. 1. - might have knock in and out plug longer and suitably drilled. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
