re Mr.Fedden's Bentley Car.

I have heard from him this morning to the effect that he is sending his car to Derby to-morrow.

I attach a schedule of points he would like seen to.

Dealing with:

(1). Steering. From our recent correspondence I understand that you can fairly easily correct this.

(2). Front shock absorbers, and his remarks about the whole front of the car surging, I am wondering whether this is a case for introducing the stabilising bar.

(3). Tappets. In view of the amount of running he has done, I see no reason why he should not be charged the normal amount for decarbonisation, which presumably includes tappet adjustment.

(4). Gearbox rattle. I have an idea that some modification has been more or less promised to him in order to cure this. You might please let me know.

(5). Brakes. The same remarks apply as to (3), i.e. that he should be charged for overhauling the brakes and re-lining if necessary, and we might give him a hub removing tool.

(6). Windscreen Wiper. As this is supplied as an accessory by us to the coachbuilders and fitted up by them, perhaps it had better be seen to when it goes to Park Ward's for various body points in January, unless there is some obvious defect which you can put right. Generally speaking, the wipers supplied are giving very good results.

Speedometer and Rev.Counter. This is the first complaint I have seen about the instruments not being clear enough for reading, except of course the complaints where the scuttle prevented the speedometer being read at one part of the dial, which we overcame by reversing its position.

I am not aware that we know of a better speedometer and revolution counter but you might please let me know.
