Distributor with brass inserts and nickel rotor also longer distance to earth.

(a) Combination of sparking points used on other makes and noticed to give better results than stainless steel.

(b) Longer leakage paths to earth necessary as sparking over occurs on damp mornings, and particularly as we are increasing the compression ratios.

___

Insulated lever and earthed point.

(a) Bakelite bushed lever would require no lubrication on the pivot and would not tend to seize.

(b) Possible advantages in construction and economy, also conformity to standard with other makes.

___

Ignition governor with the weights working in a horizontal plane.

(a) Economy in space and material.

___

Double contact breaker levers.

(a) Obtain a large make ratio with a fairly large gap.

(b) Halving the wear on the points.

___

A warning light to indicate when the ignition has been left on would be a boon. It could be worked off the cut-out.
