-3- The chauffeur was still satisfied with the results so we returned to the Depot, and I checked the cross steering tubes by hand, as having proved the steering was right with correct tyres, there was nothing to be gained by dismantling any part of the steering. The slight heaviness of the steering I told the chauffeur would very quickly right itself. Having completed the trials to the chauffeurs satisfaction and having a friendly talk with him, he remarked that he now understood the position more clearly, and realized what tyres could do, and promised that for the front he would not use the liquid in the tubes. With this he departed convinced, and it remains to be seen whether the owner is as satisfied as the chauffeur. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} P.S. We learnt that the owner does really think a lot of the car and has not much use for the Buicks etc. | ||
