| RIC. from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} X207 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}13/KT.21.3.33. 'R' CAM FORMS FOR BENSPORT. We expect by this means to get the maximum power from the Bensport Unit. In order to be able to insert the camshaft the overall diameter of the cam tips must not exceed 1.644. We find that by scaling down the 'R' engine cams in the ratio of .8648 we can get an almost ideal camshaft, the base circle becoming .9946 diameter and the lift .3247. Will you please therefore make for us a camshaft (which we call Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}965) of all the other dimensions to E.57177 but with the cam forms to E.32381 scaled down .8648; the exhaust to lead the inlet by 110°. We shall require to use a .750 radius follower. Either Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}351 or Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}499 would be suitable. A set of the former should be in existance. 370 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} | ||
