Week-end run of about 400 miles.

The main criticism of this car is the functioning of the brake system.

The servo groaned for about 150 miles even when the brakes were not applied, and the front brakes rubbed till they got so hot that they juddered even when not being used. The servo has been slacked off and the clutch pedal return spring hitched on to the front brake idler lever.

The centre bolt holding the servo on to the gearbox is not locked and was not tight, possibly due to vibration. There is no box spanner in the tool kit for the large servo adjusting nuts.

Other points -

(1) Engine does not tick over when hot.
(2) Prop. shaft vibration bad when car loaded up.
(3) Suspension noise on rough roads worse than any B.V..Thumps are felt on the steering wheel, over quite small pot holes.
(4) Wind screen wiper switch is marked "rear blind".
(5) Cigarette lighter though present, does not work.
(6) Cubby hole needs lip to keep contents inside.

This must be investigated. 3 B50 is quite good. What is the difference?
Caswell should investigate
