For the attention of Mr. Cloudsley.

Dear Sirs,

Herewith a print of a front damper casing as promised. The casting will follow in due course.

We are very interested in the performance of your damper an our indicator and look forward to receiving the second rear damper, when we can do some work on a car. The harshness produced by rear dampers is quite noticeable, we shall have no difficulty in measuring the effect of your time lag valves.

We do not quite understand how the grooves in the piston TL/721 are produced. We do not know how to make them cheaply when we use a double acting valve on our front damper. It might be best to use two single acting valves, thus keeping front and rear parts common, at any rate for a first test.

We have not as yet discussed the financial side of the Cyston valve. It is our practice to find out the production prices of components before we get deeply involved in testing them, as this is a very expensive process. We understand that you allow Luvax to fit one of your valves to their dampers. We presume that you would allow us to make or obtain a damper comprising pistons, case etc, and then fit your valve to it. Since dies are required to make the pressings we should be prepared to buy the valve pieces from you, and fit them to the damper here in our Works.

If this arrangement would be satisfactory to you, will you please say what the cost of the valve parts would be, as nearly as possible, assuming we use two valves per damper as on the samples supplied. We judge from the simplicity of the pieces that the price ought not to be high. We are not

Cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary}
