By telephone this morning E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} put forward the following suggestions for dealing with the question of dynamo output :- 1/- I gathered that the proposal generally could be summed up as a scheme which made it optional for a driver to run either on full charge or half-charge irrespective of the lamps. 2/- This was to be attained by altering the switch so that there was one position which gave a full charge without the headlamps being on, and the second position which gave a half charge under similar conditions. Each of these would apparently be associated with a single switch position i.e. it would be M.B. and full charge, one position, M.B. and half charge, second position, and B only, no charge. This would give, generally speaking, a scheme by which you could run half charge with no headlamps on during the summer, but in winter time you would have a position which would give full charge all the time i.e. with or without lamps.
