ALTERNATIVE MYTH CYLINDERHEAD
--------------------------

We are sending you herewith detail drawings for an alternative cylinderhead for the Myth engine.

This alternative head means a modification to the top of the cylinder block casting. It is provided to see if the high power engine will function with the inlet and exhaust valves on the same side. On the Senior Range of engines, they have always been on opposite sides of the head.

If the combustion curve figures are unaffected by the altered gas flows, it means that we can use an exhaust heated hot spot, which is much cheaper than a water heated hot spot, gives a quicker warm-up, and will enable us to dispense with radiator shutters.

As soon as you have obtained the necessary castings of the existing cylinder block and crankcase patterns, we should like you to have them modified to suit the new head, and take castings for the 10 H.P. engine.

As soon as we have made tests comparing the two heads, we shall make a final decision as to the construction of the Junior Range of rationalised engines.
