Hook Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/IMW.{Ivan M. Waller - Head of Chateauroux} from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}9/R.18.10.38. 8.B.V. As I anticipated the new pivots have been delayed. The reason for this delay is that when they got the forgings off the dies they were scrap. You can, therefore, go straight ahead and get your mileage run. In view of the shortage of B.III cars, it is absolutely imperative that we should avoid an accident with this car, and I want you to impress this on all drivers. We shall show no consideration to anyone who has an accident in this car, unless it can be proved without doubt that it was not their fault. We are naturally anxious to know what you found to be the cause of the flat spot in the pick-up on this car. My suggestion is that the new steering geometry pieces and pivot parts are fitted to this car when it has done 15,000 miles, so that you can get comparative figures of merit in France, and then the car comes home.
