(3) Brakes Squealing.

We spent a lot of time and trouble on these brakes. We also fitted special brake liners. There is not the slightest doubt that it is the cycle type wings which are causing the trouble. We will do some more experiments on our own car to see if we can find a cure which will "stay put" but from what we have already done we can say that this is not going to be easy.

(4) Other Changes in the Car since its return to you.

(a) No alteration has been made to the carburetters, so that it is difficult to understand the alteration in your petrol consumption.

(b) No alteration has been made to the dynamo. We will, however, see if we can produce a voltage regulator for you which will increase the charge to the battery. I do not know what oil you are running on, but Mobiloil 'E' and Castrol 'XL' are too heavy for Winter work. The heaviest oils which should be used are Castrol 'CW' and Mobiloil 'AF'. This makes a lot of difference to the power taken out of the battery, and I suggest that you change over right away.

(c) We will replace your petrol pump and investigate the cause of the trouble.

If you will give us a date when you will be available, we will send somebody down to go over the points on the car with you.

Yours sincerely,
