KESTREL MAIN BEARING LOADS.
We have investigated the centre main bearing load for the Kestrel using in each case Lr{Mr Ellor}'s. indicator diagram at 2250 and 2500 RPM. The results, and some incidental calculations are appended herewith. It will be seen that the average load at 2500 RPM. is greater than at 2250 RPM. The effect of fitting balance weights to balance the crankshaft only, is also shewn, the average load being reduced but the peak loads are increased.
