Analysis of engine performance variations related to part throttle correction and the size of the induction pipe balance hole.

So it follows that the degree of part throttle correction can be to a large extent controlled by the size of the balance hole in the centre of the induction pipe. The increased ramming is used to advantage when using the small balance hole, and the power differences are shown on graph No.S.40 this curve does not compare with the power shown on graph No.S.31. The two difference tests were taken with an interval of about 2 months between them, during which time, various modifications and interchange of parts had been taken place. Actually such alterations and laps of time should not cause variations, but we get such differences and bigger variations between engines, which cannot easily be accounted for.
